Ageing Process.....What are the causes for thinning hair?  Are there answers, both to thicken the hair and to stop the thin hair from happening in the first place?

Of course there can be a multitude of reasons.  Certain illnesses, medications, hormonal imbalances for women, heredity even, both for women as well as men… there are so many possible causes for thinning hair.  I know it is something that I have been dealing with recently, but I switched shampoo to a more gentle variety and as a person of the ‘coarse, dry hair’ type, washing less was an instant plus for me.  As a just-turned-50 year old, I am going through hormonal change and have really been for the last number of years.  Some of the places this has shown up in is my hair.  Hair vitamins for thinning hair? Is there really some vitamins that can help? What really causes hair to thin, are there some causes more common than not… perhaps a medical basis, like thyroid issues?  And of course, some hair styles are better than others for thinning hair and can help to at least mask the problem for the time being at least.  I know women who have resorted to wigs and these are big business in this day and age… and that’s a gorgeous option sometimes, I love wigs for their versatility as well and am considering getting one for myself… working up to it, I’m a middle of the road type of gal and that is adventurous for me. But I have seen some really nice looking options out there recently, I may get the nerve up soon. :)
